Sustainability

Deloitte New Zealand prioritises sustainability in all forms. This can be seen through our commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, our WorldClass commitment and our emphasis on social impact. Our dedicated Sustainability & Climate team in Aotearoa play a pivotal role in championing this commitment to sustainability.

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) guides a number of Deloitte’s sustainability commitments. WorldClass supports the goals focused on inclusive and equitable education and lifelong learning (SDG4), sustained economic growth and decent work for all (SDG8), reducing inequality within and among countries  (SDG10) and revitalising the global partnership for sustainable development (SDG17).

WorldClass

100 million futures. One future at a time.

Now more than ever, educational inequalities within our communities and around the world are widening. At the same time, technology is fundamentally transforming how education is delivered, how students learn, and how work is done.

Through WorldClass, Deloitte aim’s to develop job skills, improve educational outcomes and expand opportunities for 100 million people worldwide by 2030. In New Zealand, our aim is to impact 25,000 lives by 2030.

As a people business, we believe we make the greatest societal impact by enabling our professionals to use their skills and knowledge to help those from under-represented segments of society achieve their aspirations and fulfil their potential.

See our 2023 New Zealand Impact Report for more information about how Deloitte make an impact that matters in Aotearoa.

Social Impact

Social impact is inextricably linked to sustainability; a sustainable future is one in which we have created lasting success that is inclusive for all and reflects the symbiotic relationships we have with our environment. At Deloitte, our purpose statement guides us to ‘make an impact that matters’ – giving our people the mandate to align our economic and financial success with improving outcomes for our families, communities, and nations.

“We are focused on helping our clients solve some of society’s most wicked problems – poverty, homelessness, supporting vulnerable families and enabling educational and economic achievement.”
