Our Tax team

As part of Deloitte New Zealand’s Tax practice, you are a part of a well-equipped and diverse team that offers dynamic and innovative client-specific solutions.

This is your opportunity to seize the moment and help our clients solve some of the most complex issues their businesses will ever face. You will do this by first understanding, and then staying up to date with current tax law. You’ll build your commercial, industry and technical knowledge, using it to consult with clients and deliver practical advice.

As part of the Deloitte Tax team you will provide a full range of services to an extensive portfolio of clients from high net worth individuals and start-ups through to NZ owned and international multinationals, across a wide range of industries such as hospitality, retail, agricultural any many more. These services might be:

  • Considering the application of double tax agreements and OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines
  • Submissions on tax legislation or consultation documents
  • Researching and responding to a range of client queries like tax obligations for global brands entering the New Zealand market
  • Performing due diligence reviews and reviewing sale and purchase agreements for business acquisitions and other large transactions to identify any tax issues
  • Helping clients manage their international tax obligations including ensure appropriate structures are in place
  • Managing compliance for clients throughout the year across GST, FBT, NRWT, provisional tax
  • Tax briefings for employees sent to New Zealand by their employer, explaining the tax implications of an international assignment
